About Gregory

Gregory C. Breunich brings more than 40 years of experience owning, creating, operating, and managing some of the finest sports academies in the world. As Former Senior Vice President of IMG and Director of IMG Academies — the largest and most recognized multi-sport training and education academy business in the world — Gregory helped shape the global standard for high-performance athlete development.

Gregory was the managing partner of Bayshore Sports Associates and a 40% shareholder of IMGA LLP. He developed and managed IMG Academies from the ground up, overseeing a 500-acre growth plan that included the creation of new sport divisions in golf, soccer, baseball, basketball, hockey, and swimming. His executive vision transformed the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy into a multi-sport, multi-education institution recognized worldwide.

Among his many landmark achievements, Gregory led the development of the Seguso/Bassett Academy — currently the Evert Academy — and was responsible for formulating and executing the Evert Academy Turnaround in 2004. He also spearheaded the ground-up development of the Shonan Sports Center in Fujisawa, Japan in 1983 — the largest tennis, fitness, and academy complex in Asia at the time.

Gregory founded the International Performance Institute, Bollettieri Sports Medicine, and the Pendleton School (K-12). He also provided strategic guidance for the Sagemont Online High School — private labeled as the University of Miami Online High School — positioning it for acquisition by Warren Buffett's online education arm, Kaplan, which later became part of K-12, the public online education institution.

He developed the Club Med Academies business model — a global training and education institution delivering high-level performance methodology into Club Med's worldwide hospitality and leisure platform. He also created the Mountain Sports Academy in 2007, developing 71 of the world's finest young free riders, speed skiers, and snowboarders.

At North Miami Beach Academy, Gregory serves as Academy Director and Head Coach, bringing his unmatched global pedigree to bear on the development of every student-athlete who walks through our doors.
