North Miami Beach Academy ("NMBA," "we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of our students, families, and website visitors. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website, enroll in our programs, or interact with our services.

As a COGNIA-accredited K–12 private school and high-performance tennis academy, we operate in compliance with applicable federal and Florida state privacy laws — including FERPA, COPPA, and Florida SOPIPA — and maintain strict standards for the handling of student and family data.

Children's Privacy (COPPA & Florida SOPIPA)

NMBA is a K–12 school serving students from kindergarten through 12th grade, including students under the age of 13. We are committed to protecting the privacy of minors in accordance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Florida Statute 1002.222 (SOPIPA).

  • We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through our website without verifiable parental consent
  • Enrollment and program information for students under 13 is collected from and submitted by parents or legal guardians
  • We do not use student data for targeted advertising or commercial profiling
  • We do not sell, rent, or share student personal information with third parties for non-educational purposes
  • Parents and guardians have the right to review, correct, or request deletion of their child's personal information by contacting us directly
  • All third-party technology providers used in our educational programs are required to comply with applicable student data privacy laws

FERPA — Student Education Records

As a K–12 educational institution, NMBA is subject to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), which affords parents and eligible students certain rights with respect to the student's education records.

  • Right to inspect — Parents and eligible students have the right to inspect and review the student's education records within 45 days of a request
  • Right to request amendment — Parents and eligible students may request that NMBA correct records they believe to be inaccurate or misleading
  • Right to consent to disclosure — NMBA generally requires written consent before disclosing personally identifiable information from a student's education records, except in circumstances permitted by FERPA
  • Right to file a complaint — Parents and eligible students have the right to file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education concerning NMBA's failure to comply with FERPA

Step Up For Students Compliance

NMBA participates in Florida's Step Up For Students scholarship programs, including the Family Empowerment Scholarship for Educational Options (FES-EO) and the Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities (FES-UA). In connection with these programs, we comply with all data privacy requirements established by Step Up For Students and the Florida Department of Education.

⚠ Important Notice — EMA Account Credentials NMBA staff will never request a family's EMA (Eligible for Merit Award) account username, password, or login credentials for any purpose. Families with questions about their scholarship accounts should contact Step Up For Students directly at stepupforstudents.org.
  • Scholarship-related student data is shared only as required to verify enrollment and facilitate funding
  • We do not use scholarship data for marketing or commercial purposes
  • All scholarship data handling complies with Step Up For Students program agreements and Florida law

International Students — F-1 / SEVIS / SEVP

NMBA is authorized by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) through the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) to enroll international students on F-1 student visas. In connection with this authorization, we are required to collect, maintain, and report certain student information through the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS).

  • Passport and visa documentation required for I-20 issuance
  • Country of origin and immigration status information
  • Enrollment status, attendance, and program progress as required by SEVP
  • Financial documentation demonstrating ability to fund education and living expenses

This information is maintained by our Designated School Official (DSO) and reported to DHS/SEVIS as required by federal law. International student records are maintained in compliance with both FERPA and SEVP requirements. Students and families with questions about their SEVIS record should speak with our DSO directly.

Third-Party Services We Use

NMBA uses the following third-party services in the operation of our website and programs. Each provider has its own privacy policy governing how your data is handled. We encourage you to review those policies directly.

  • Intuit Payments — Payment processing for tuition, camp fees, and program registrations. We do not store credit card or banking information on our servers.
  • WooCommerce — E-commerce platform for program registration and purchases on our website.
  • Salesforce — Customer relationship management and enrollment tracking for prospective and enrolled families.
  • GoHighLevel — Marketing automation, email communications, and CRM pipeline management. You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any email.
  • Bookly — Appointment scheduling for campus visits, evaluations, and consultations.
  • Google Analytics & Google Search Console — Website traffic analysis and search performance monitoring. Google may collect anonymized usage data.
  • WP Mail SMTP — Transactional and notification email delivery.
  • Elementor — Website page builder; no personal data collected by this tool.
