When should we start the college placement process?
Ideally, the process begins in the 9th or 10th grade. The earlier you start building your profile and identifying target schools, the more options you will have. That said, we work with students at every stage — even those who begin the process as juniors or seniors.
What does NMBA provide versus what USP provides?
NMBA handles the academic foundation — college readiness evaluation, SAT/ACT/TOEFL test preparation, essay writing guidance, college selection strategy, academic tutoring, and coach introductions. USP provides the extended recruiting management — dedicated advisor support, comprehensive coach outreach, scholarship negotiation, visit preparation, and enrollment support through signing day. The two phases are designed to work seamlessly together.
Do I have to be a current NMBA student to access these services?
The Phase 1 in-house services are available to current NMBA Full-Time Academy and Academics Only students as part of their program. The USP partnership packages are available to any family, regardless of enrollment status. Contact our admissions office to discuss your situation.
Are athletic scholarships guaranteed?
No placement service can guarantee scholarships — and any that claim otherwise should be approached with caution. What we can provide is a structured, professional process that maximizes your student's visibility and opportunities with programs actively looking for athletes with their profile.
Is this available for students who are not tennis players?
Yes. Our Phase 1 in-house services — academic preparation, testing, and essay guidance — are available to all NMBA students pursuing college opportunities, regardless of sport. USP's extended services support tennis, golf, soccer, and other athletic disciplines. Contact us to discuss your student's specific situation.
Is this service available for international students?
Yes. USP has extensive experience placing international athletes in U.S. universities and can assist with F-1 visa considerations, English language requirements, and TOEFL preparation pathways. NMBA's own TOEFL preparation services are also available to all enrolled international students.
