Report Educator Misconduct

North Miami Beach Academy is committed to maintaining a safe, ethical, and respectful environment for every student in our care. Florida law requires all instructional personnel and administrators to report any reasonable suspicion of educator misconduct to the Florida Department of Education.

As a COGNIA-accredited institution, we take this obligation seriously. All NMBA employees are informed of this requirement as a condition of employment, and we actively support the reporting process as a cornerstone of student safety and professional accountability.

Florida Statute § 1012.796 requires that any person who suspects misconduct by an instructional personnel member or administrator must report it to the Florida Department of Education. Failure to report known misconduct may result in disciplinary action.

How to Report Educator Misconduct
Any person who has reason to suspect misconduct by an instructional personnel member or school administrator is required by Florida law to report it. Reports can be made directly to the Florida Department of Education or to NMBA's Director of Education. All reports are taken seriously and handled with confidentiality.
Step 01 Report Online
Submit a report directly through the Florida Department of Education's online complaint portal at fldoe.org. This is the fastest and most direct method.
Step 02 Report by Phone
Call the FLDOE Education Practices Commission directly at (850) 488-1234. Phone reports are accepted during normal business hours, Monday through Friday.
Step 03 Notify NMBA Administration
You may also report concerns internally to NMBA's Director of Education. Internal reports do not replace the obligation to report to the FLDOE, but our administration will support you through the process.
